Here's my entry for :iconrinjapine:'s "What if" contest :D

I'm not fully happy with this, but I thought it was an interesting idea :D Besides, I had fun doing this anyway ^^ So I guess that's what counts c:

Here's Uru with Vifijo and their cub. But by now Vifijo is up there in age. Hmm.. around 60 maybe? So instead of Uru being saddled with butthole Ahadi, she gets Vifijo, who I'd imagine to be a pretty mellow guy :D

So here's a pretty much rushed story I came up with ^^; I lost interest near the end.... so...enjoy? xD
It was a quiet morning in the PrideLands. The sun had begun to raise over the horizon, and the mighty Queen Uru had woken up from her deep night's slumber. She wanted to start her daily rounds about the kingdom to avoid her pride from bothering her about finding a new mate. It had a been a rough time on Uru since she not only had lost the love of her life, but her own son as well. She never wanted to consider taking in a new mate because she would never love them like she did Kipendo.
Uru made it to the border of her kingdom and started walking about to keep rouges away. After a while she grew hungry and was about to return to pride rock, she spotted a tan male rouge slowly walking towards her. She grew angry at the sight. Didn't he know better than to attempt and confront the large Queen? Apparently not. Uru stood her ground and growled in hopes this filthy rouge would run off. But...he didn't. He walked right up to her. He looked very tired and old; possibly even on his last few years. Uru was confused and angry. What did he want? He spoke. "Queen Uru, I presume. My name is Vifijo, please to meet you. I came here hoping you would let me stay here." Uru snarled. "Just why would I allow such a thing? I don't allow rouges here." She said sternly. "I feel that the Great Spirit will be here to claim me not too far from now. I might have a few more good years in me, but I hoped to stay here and settle down until my time has come. I lost someone I had come to love a while back and I've been traveling in the hopes of finding a pride that would take me in." Vifijo said slowly as age had affected his voice. Uru looked at him. Deep down she felt bad for him. Not only was he old, he lost someone he loved. She felt for him and understood his problem. Normally she would NEVER accept a rouge. But she saw him as no threat. He seemed pretty mellow and a little sluggish, so he wouldn't cause only problems. "Alright." Spoke the Red Queen. "I will accept you here ONLY because you pose no threat to me... Vifijo..." Vifijo's eyes lit up and felt a small speck of happiness. Sure, it would never heal him from his past, but it was enough to make the old lion happy. "Thank you, Queen Uru. I am in your debt, your Majesty." The tan rouge said.
Uru lead Vifijo back to her kingdom. The walk was a little slow due to Vifijo's older age. The Red Queen didn't mind it, though. She wasn't too fond of getting there anytime soon due her lionesses pestering her about finding a mate. Uru didn't even want to think about it. To keep her mind off of the subject, she hesitantly decided to speak with this rouge. "So. Where do you hail from?" Uru said bluntly. Vifijo raised his head. "I used to live around the borders of the Clifflands. Where I met a beautiful lioness. I mean, she was terribly deformed, but she was pretty in my eyes.... She disapeared one day, never to be found again..." He trailed off. Uru pitied him very slightly and frowned a little, but quickly went back to her normal, everyday scowl.
They reached the kingdom and the lionesses were up and about ready to go out for their morning hunt. Some of the lionesses noticed Uru walking beside a rouge they had never seen before. They whispered to each other about this. "Was he Queen Uru's choice?" "Was she going to execute him for trespassing?" Uru overheard of her follower's ponderings and announced "This is Vifijo. Yes, he is a rouge, but an older one at that. He simply wishes to spend his last years in a pride to stay safe, and he is definitely no threat to anyone here." Uru proclaimed. Most of the lionesses nodded in approval, except one. Njama. The oddly colored lioness walked up to Uru disgruntled by her step mother's decision. "Mother? What do you think you're doing? Are you insane? You told me you would NEVER accept a rouge, let alone a male one! He's too old to contribute here! Tell this old fart to beat it!" Njama growled. Uru had to control herself to keep from smacking her step-daughter to next week. "Njama.." Uru spoke. "I have made my choice. He will stay here, and you can be mad at me all you want." Njama opened her mouth to speak but decided to shut up for now. There was nothing to change her bull-headed mother's decision, so she scoffed away and went out to hunt. Uru closed her eyes and sighed and turned to Vifijo, who looked baffled by what the oddly colored lioness had said. "My deepest apologies... Njama isn't the kind to accept rouges.." Uru said with a calm but stern voice. Vifijo nodded. "It's fine."
The days went on and slowly turned to weeks and then months. Vifijo was getting along fine with the lionesses and he would tell them the adventures of his travels. The lionesses loved hearing his stories, even if he forgot parts and often fell asleep in the middle of a story. Uru seemed to be amused by his stories as well. She didn't show it though. She felt sad for him loosing his former mate. She understood the feeling too well. Her pride started to.. press a certain issue. They wanted her and Vifijo to mate so Uru will have her heir. Uru seemed pretty upset by this request, but she decided to agree- she DID need an heir to her throne, and she decided to have that through this rouge. He was hanging on by the threads of his last few years of his life. He was a very mellow sort, he wouldn't cause any trouble, besides, he looked alright enough to mate with. So later on that night Uru went up to the den where Vifijo dwelled. She sat down beside him. "So.. Vifijo, remember when you said that you owed me that day I accepted you into my kingdom?" Uru asked the old lion. "Of course your Majesty. Why do you ask?" Vifijo asked puzzled. "Vifijo, you see, I have no heir to my kingdom. My former mate from many years ago was killed, and my son ran off. Will you accept my offer?" Uru asked straight-forwardly. Vifijo seemed shocked about what the Queen asked of him. He DID owe her, so he might as well.
That night they shared bodies, not out of love, just because Vifijo owed Queen Uru, and she needed an heir to her kingdom. A few months passed and Uru gave birth to a healthy son. Uru and Vifijo named him Faizah, for he would become a sucessful king one day once Uru passed on. Vifijo felt happy that he could see one of his own be born. A few months went on and Vifijo united with the stars and watched his son grow up from the stars...
