Mshangao: "Surprise" Swahili
Kaluwa: "Forgotten one" Swahili (Runaway name)

Relations: Daughter to Furaha, Haki; sister to Akili, Kazi; mate to Asani; mother to Jadi, Asubuhi, Kanu

Mshangao was the last born to the King and Queen of the Junglelands, and was an unexpected birth, thus a huge surprise to her parents and the pride. Furaha thought herself a little too old to still be having cubs (She was 39 yrs old) Mshangao gave her mother a rough time through the birthing process, but they both turned out fine and healthy. Ever since, Furaha always called Mshangao her "surprise."

Due to certain events (Ones I shall not speak of just yet

) She runs away from home at a young age. She meets up with a younger lion who was traveling and they became fast friends and traveling companions. Later on, they run into trouble (MORE stuff I won't tell of yet) and ever since, Mshangao has been afflicted to severe panic attacks, nightmares, and the fear of males and wanting nothing to do with them. Anytime she's around a male, threatening or not, she breaks into severe panic attacks and has to have the help of her friends to calm her down.

I hope to possibly make a comic of Mshangao's story. But it still needs working on. I had a plan before on how to do it, went with it, changed it to something else, but it seemed too much like Simba's story... So I went back with my original idea; the one I SHOULD have stuck with.

If making the comic becomes too much work for me, I might just draw a simple picture and write a story to go with it. But I really want to show interaction between the characters and such. I know I could detail it more with words. But we'll see... Besides, in the meantime, I really need to work on more character sheets and designs, and get permission to a lion ref from another artist; her lion will be the one who accompanies Mshangao once she runs away.
